A group of four high school teenage girls solved one of Nigeria's gravest electrical challenge by inventing a system that uses urine to power generator. This came after years of reported cases of deaths resulting from carbon monoxide poisoning that emanates from power generator fumes.
http://www.overunity.com/13101/urine-powered-generator-from-africa/ This is a new system designed by 4 schoolgirls from Nigeria, Africa with the help of their teacher to get an electrical generator system running on just ONLY Urine ! They used electrolysis to split Urine ( pee ) into hydrogen and clear it up via a liquid borax solution and then run a generator to produce the electricity to run the electrolysis... So it seems this is a selfrunning system only using up the pee !!! Urine-powered cars, homes and personal electronic devices could be available in six months. Using a nickel-based electrode, scientists can create large amounts of cheap hydrogen from urine that could be burned or used in fuel cells. One cow can provide enough energy to supply hot water for 19 houses. One mol...
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has implemented the first phase of a multi-year tariff increase system by enforcing a 40% rise in the cost of using the state utility. Nigeria's power grid currently supplies just over 4800 Megawatts of electricity to an estimated population of 177 million people. Here is Sophia Adengo with more.

Nigeria's electricity companies will shut down power supplies unless the government pays outstanding bills it owes them. If executed the move could plunge industries and residential homes into darkness except for those that rely on expensive diesel generators. The Six power generating companies, known as Gencos say the government owes them 485 million dollars. They also said banks were recalling loans made to them. The central bank has stepped in with a 213 billion dollar loan to keep the system afloat and allow the power firms to access credit. But more is needed as the oil price slump pressures Nigeria's currency.

Nigeria’s power reform fixated on on-grid electricity – sepan The president of the Sustainable Energy Practitioners Association of Nigeria (SEPAN), Dr. Magnus Onuoha, has said that Nigeria’s electricity reform which officially started in 2005 with the enactment of the Electric Power Sector Reform Act (EPSRA) is deeply fixated on improving the demand and supply of on-grid electricity supplies but less interested in the off grid end of the market mix, OGN reports. Speaking at the 2017 edition of the Nigeria Alternative Energy Expo (NAEE) in Abuja, Onuoha, ex...

Nigeria’s electricity grid collapses Nigeria’s power grid collapsed on Tuesday night, leading to widespread blackout across the country. It was gathered that the collapse was due to a fire incident on the Escravos Lagos Pipeline System of the Nigerian Gas Processing and Transportation Company Limited. The incident led to a shutdown of the pipeline that supplies gas to six thermal power plants resulting to the collapse of the country’s electricity grid. This was confirmed by the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing in a stat...
The Nigerian government is training 30 youths from the Niger Delta region in Electrical Engineering in Grenoble, France, in line with the government's commitment to transforming the power sector. But did you know you could generate light with potatoes? "I don't pay NEPA bill at home," says Mr Alabi Battabox presenter Adeola discovered and spoke to this brilliant man Alabi Olusola who generates electricity for himself and his household, using Sweet Potatoes. He shows us what he uses and how it is done. "Banana can also generate electricity," he explains to Adeola Talking to Adeola about how he came about creating this invention, he stated - "I know when you add positive and negative, it's going to give you light," Alabi Olusola has...
